LEGO Ideas Second 2016 Set Winner: Women of NASA

1

LEGO Ideas has just announced the second 2016 set and the winner was Women of NASA. The original concept by 20tauri features 5 women of NASA (Margaret Hamilton, Katherine Johnson, Sally Ride, Nancy Grace Roman and Mae Jemison) along with a desktop frame and 4 vignettes depicting important events of their history. The final design has yet to be revealed, but I’m sure many of you are already excited about this set.

It was also stated that the LEGO Ideas team is still reviewing the Voltron – Defender of the Universe project by len_d69. It’s unsure whether this set will be approved or not, so we’ll have to wait until the next winner announcements to find out.

The next batch of LEGO Ideas Projects (below) is already in review and it features 12 different ideas. Its winner will be announced in the summer of 2017.

  1. While I respect the women of NASA and what this set represents, this will not be appealing to purchase by lego builders. They should have picked this and a set that was more appealing to build for lego builders. I couldn’t imagine purchasing this.
